Privacy & the 21st Century

In order for their to be a sense of privacy left in this world, people need to think more carefully about the choices they make and how these choices can effect them in the future as well as present day. It's the responsibility of each individual that "exists" in the 21st century to protect these rights for themselves, their families, future generations, and so much more. As of present day, our expectations for privacy and rights / ideas pertaining to privacy have increased, while our actual sense of privacy has lessened because of the choices we make / have made due to small, somewhat insignificant choices we made subconsciously.

People constantly use social media as an outlet to take out any frustrations, anxiety, etc. that they may have. Not only do they get the negative feelings they have out, but they are also exposing themselves to a world wide audience whether they meant to or not, and whether they wanted this audience or not. Any form of information / media that the person puts out on the internet can be forever imprinted in the minds of several individuals whether they are pictures, quotes, videos, or simply just a spur-of-the-moment idea, outburst, emotion, etc. These are the kind of choices that effect our sense of privacy.

Before one can make demands and list their expectations, they must define what privacy means to them and follow the guidelines they have virtually then created for themselves. If one is unable to do this, they cannot expect to be given that sense of privacy, and can expect to eventually become corrupt due to the lack of not being able to set their own standards. So as people, we must help ourselves and each other to gain and preserve this sense of privacy we ever so desire and hope to gain.
